As part of the Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyaan, ONGC has undertaken the responsibility to build toilets in schools in rural areas of India. In addition to this, they collaborated with earth&us to spread awareness about sanitation and environmental sustainability. The first phase of this internship program was carried out with students of Meghalaya, Tripura and Assam last year. This year, the program is to be carried out in Bihar, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh.
The internship program is 14 weeks long; 2 weeks training in Auroville where interns will be provided with the pedagogical tools and modules. The next 12 weeks comprise of field work where the interns will go to various schools in rural areas to spread awareness about sanitation, menstrual hygiene and water & soil conservation.
Travel to Auroville and all living and training expenses will be covered by the project. Interns will recieve a stipend as well as a certificate upon completion of the program and submission of reports.
