• Mr. Manas Chakrabarti
      Mr. Manas Chakrabarti
      Manas brings more than 25 years of experience in designing learning solutions for diverse global audiences, from Cambodia to Copenhagen. After completing his engineering education from BITS, Pilani, he worked in a series of engineering jobs till he discovered learning design. From 1991, he spent his early career at NIIT as an Instructional Design Leader, as Delivery Head of the US operations and later as Global Head of Learning Design. He was CEO of Hole-in-the-Wall Education Ltd., a disruptive education company jointly set up by NIIT and the International Finance Corporation. Later, Manas moved to the non-profit sector and implemented large scale education solutions as Director of the American India Foundation and as Global Training Director of the Fair Labor Association.
      For the last few years, Manas has worked as an independent advisor and consultant and serves on the board of several NGOs. He has helped set up two Indian universities, with a particular focus on innovative pedagogy for undergraduate education. His current interest is the use of technology for deep learning in science and for prevention of mass atrocity crimes. Manas is also a member of the Board of Governors of The Doon School.
    • Mr. N. Bala Baskar
        Mr. N. Bala Baskar

        Having served as an IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Officer for 34 years, Mr Bala Baskar retired from active service in 2009. He held many senior positions in government including, Principal Adviser, Finance, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India; Principal Secretary, Finance and Planning, Govt. of Haryana; Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering and Irrigation, Govt. of Haryana; and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Supplies, CA and PD, Govt. of India.

        He has served as the Secretary, Auroville Foundation from 1996 to 2001 and from 2012 to 2014. After retiring from Government Service he was Director of the Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirapalli from 2010 to 2012.

        His areas of interest include, Public Finance, Planning and Financial Management; with a particular focus on Education and Training for Development.

      • Mr. Shibu K Nair
          Mr. Shibu K Nair

          Shibu K. Nair was awarded Zero Waste Fellowship in 2002 and completed training on Zero Waste from Ecology Centre and GAIA in Berkeley, California. He joined ThanalĀ (http://thanal.co.in/) in 1991 and since 2000 leads the Zero Waste programmes, projects and campaigns of Thanal.

          He coordinates Zero Waste Himalaya Network and is a Regional Advisory Committee Member of GAIA Asia Pacific Region. He is a guest faculty in Kerala Institute of Local Administration and State Institute of Rural Development under Ministry of Local Self Government of Kerala.

          He represents Thanal in State level Government Technical committees on Solid Waste Management. He provides technical consultancy to governments, institutions and communities on solid waste management and zero waste systems.
